I've run Merak at various levels for almost 5 years.  IMail is very comparable.  They share the same market, really.

I suppose others might address the individual items in your post, but I won't.

At the very least, I hope ranting is therapeutic.  :o)

Subject: [IMail Forum] i'm sick of using imail

problems problems problem
thats all i can say , while talking about imail

we are running imail on 20 servers , an each day is a horribel trip at the moment :

spam problems
performance problems
crazy pricings for mailserver and virus protection

why isn't ipswitch able to programm some very necessary tools/plugins ?

for exampel:
- !!! a tool that let imail deny ip's which are producing 20 error messages in the logfile for 60min  !!!
( you never had spammers trying a 1000 times to login an the server is saying no no no no no no a 1000 times and your smtp service is running at 70% cpu time  ? )
- a fast imail administrator that is opening your mail accounts in a few seconds , and when you click on the domain it will open the user accounts
( ever opened imail admin on a server runing 2000 mail domains ? funny boring or ? even on fast machines ;-) )
- an mrtg , a graphical statistic tool what the server is doing at the moment
( ok declude offers free textbased tools for that , but why does ipswitch not ? )
- FAST webmail
( the higher the imail version is climbing the slower webmail gets )

and so on and so on .....

p.s. on our new machines we are running the merak mail server
a dream :  tools and options you are dreaming from when u are using an imail mailserver

greeting
