Well, at least iMail offers a SPELL CHECKER! You might want to look into it.
As for your other problems, I would start blocking some of those addresses at the router level. There are certainly firewalls and routers out there that can handle some of the scenarios you mention. As for most of the rest of the stuff you mentioned, running iMail, like most other software apps, is a trade-off. First of all, you can't have a GUI-laden, memory hogging, pretty-looking interface that runs on Windows and still expect to have the performance of a mail server that runs on Linux or Unix! You will need to move beyond the Windows/GUI world and spend some time getting your hands dirty with an OS that scales better than Windows does in the type of environment you describe if you want better results. iMail is great for specific users who have specific needs. It sounds like what your company needs is an experienced Unix admin who knows how to manage Postfix and cluster multiple servers. You are quite simply trying to fit a round peg into a square hole with your current approach. Don't blame iMail because you chose to use a hammer in place of where you should have used a screwdriver. NO program can be all things to all people. If you want every single feature you mentioned, you are doing yourself a disservice by depending upon any single software program to provide a total solution for your needs, especially in the world of Windows. If you want that kind of flexibility, you will have to look for add-ons or start crunching some code yourself. In the world of Linux/Unix, you can find most of these tools for free, but it takes time and knowledge to implement them. In the world of Windows, it takes MONEY to buy the extra tools, unless you want to try developing them yourself. Again, each has its trade offs. Its up to you to decide which is worth it. As for the other program you mentioned, why didn't you choose that one in the first place? Again, I think that you are laying the blame on ipswitch for homework that was your own responsibility to do. Whose fault is it if you bought the "wrong" program? There are plenty of happy iMail admins here who know exactly what they are doing, and know how and when to make iMail work for their specific situations.
