Considering that our indexed LDAP servers can handle 1,000,000+ queries/hour
hardly the typical setup for Imail admins.
exporting the Imail user base with Terry Fritt' postfix-aware tool and emailing once or twice an hour is efficient and sufficiently frequent.
, that really isn't a justification for a local database.
a dedicated LDAP server isn't what even 1% of the Imail admins have available.
And userbases in constant flux are a lot happier without tiresome server-by-server alias table sync.
Our Imail-to-IMGate export processes don't get tired, fire and forget.
