Nobody  said  I  was  hitting  them from IMail. :) This discussion was
vendor-independent, wouldn't you say (see your own next line)?

Not  sufficient  for  user adds/changes in hosting environments and in
many  business  ones,  and  clearly not optimal. An MX userbase with a
1/2-hour  delay  is fine for some...one with real-time updates is fine
for all.
