Thanks to all that replied to this posting. I really appreciate, though I still can't claim to really understand. :(( But I will follow up with the user and see if any of the suggestions resolves the issue. Does anyone know anything about the claim that our mail server is violating the RFC and that the mail server should be converting to 7bit?
I.E., <iocenter.net admin> The mail server admin for iocenter.net says we are not compliant with RFC 1426 MIME handling http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1426.html. Additionally he says...."Essentially, your SMTP server is attempting to send data in 8-bit mode to our server. Our server is requesting the data in 7-bit mode. Upon that request your server should convert the data to 7-bit mode and resend, but your server is still sending in 8-bit mode. You need to research MIME 8- to 7-bit conversion with your SMTP server. There should be a flag/switch that you can configure." </iocenter.net admin> None of our 3 different mail servers seem to have any configuration setting for 7-bit mode. Why am I confused? ;)) We are running iMail 8.03 so we are pretty current; it seems to me that if this was really an iMail issue a lot of folks would have it!
