Cavell -- We're using Outlook with IMail LDAP here. Here is how it works in our environment (by the way, we use "objectclass=*" too).
NEW MESSAGE TO FIND LOOK IN (select my LDAP service) and to get a list of all the people in my LDAP directory, I simply put rhchurch.org in the NAME field and give 'er a click. Good luck! Possibly your Search Base is invalid", then "The action could not be completed". So then I did an INIT LDAP and overwrote all the info I had in there with the same success. Blank Search Base, username with no password: Blank results in the Address book Anything in search base (valid or not), with username: Error quoted above Blank Search base, no username or password: "No entries were found. You may need to supply authentication information in order to be able to access the directory" Blank Search Base, my correct username and password: "Failed to connect to 'LDAP Server' due to invalid authentication. Ensure a valid user name and password has been entered on the Microsoft LDAP configuration page for the "LDAP Server" account." I'm starting to pull my hair out over this one!
