Usernames must indeed be unique within a host and its host aliases.
The feasibility depends on how much overlap you're inheriting (i.e.
the current overlap, which will require username changes) and what
users will tolerate in the future (i.e. getting 'waheed2' when they
want 'waheed').

The Reply-To: is a per-user setting and does not need to be tied to
