Wolf, FWIW, it looks like most of these issues are because of spam filters and or rejecting mail from servers with no rDNS (reverse DNS records). Also I would recommend hardware default on the nic.
I've never really liked the cryptic 'catch all' MX connect fail log entries either. Should state why - if known. ~Rick -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Wolf Tombe Sent: Monday, November 01, 2004 5:41 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Outbound Mail Failing - send error 10054 Eric, Thanks for the reply to my posts regarding the Send Error 10054. The server is using a duel port on board Intel Pro MT 1000 Gigabit adapter; so I followed your advice and updated the NIC drivers to the latest version available from Intel and set the card to 100MB full duplex. Unfortunately, I'm still not having any luck getting iMail to successfully send outbound messages. Now, I seem to be getting a lot of "MX connect Fail" messages. Also, in checking the logs I now notice that I'm seeing a lot of receive errors indicating "invalid user" for my e-mail account [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yet, this is set as a valid alias on the server pointing to my account of "wtombe". What's really odd is that I've checked ALL of these settings against my old iMail server and they are identical to it and it works fine; yet iMail on the new "more powerful" server fails with multiple errors.
