Sandy,

I tried your suggestion - putting NT-ESMTP Server X1 in Exchange but it
is still not working. BTW, I did restart the SMTP service and telnet test if
the NT-ESMTP Server X1 appears. I am using Imail 8.05 and Exchange 2003 in
Windows2003SP1. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The user who is sending -- the MAIL FROM.

An MX that doesn't have a copy of the userbase for gatewayed domains
can be a dangerous thing. However, this will NOT cause a failure of
the VALFROM test (in fact, the opposite, as all VALFROMs will pass).

However, Eric points out that the PIX is causing the test to _time
out_, and this appropriately constitutes a VALFROM fail.

Telnet.
