Subject: [IMail Forum] new servers

I am about to replace one of my servers with a new one. Current one
runs SCSI hard drives using hardware mirror.

My question is what is your opinion about using SATA drives instead of SCSI.

The reason I ask is because of the ease of getting replacement parts
when needed for SATA vs SCSI considering having two of everything can
get rather expensive. It's not so much the SCSI drives that could be
a problem but the mother board should it die.

I like the fact that my SuperMicro servers last for years but boy are
they expensive to have spares just laying around.

Thanks...

Mark
