Nonsense! By making this list subscriber-only post, you remove all
the spam coming from outside the list. If there are members of the
list who are abusing the list, they can be admonished and possibly
removed.
This gets rid of all the unwanted mail.
Anyone who wants to post to the list can subscribe directly to the
list, instead of through proxy distribution points. Based on the
number of people who post to the list, this isn't a burdensome
requirement, especially since it will rid us all of the annoyance
(including this whole discussion).
