If we receive some PO file for inkscape or inkscape-docs, I can still propose it via a merge request, so from my point of view it's quite okay. Concerning the hops, personally, my main fear is redundancy (even though it was very little here)! I think translators should focus on the software and the tutorials first so that people speaking their language can use Inkscape; thus they must learn how to deal with PO files. When they reach the website's PO, it's cool to see that the process is clearly the same (actually there's a small difference: you must ask for new languages to be added).
