Hartley has spelled out pretty much what I was thinking and communicating poorly perhaps.

I still have a huge pile of good books to work through before I get to the "Code", though.

Hi all and Stephen in particular,

Doesn't he himself describe what he's writing as fiction? Bit like
science fiction: you just have to make it "sound" sensible. Which he has
done.

If it's good fiction it might make you think. But it's still fiction.
Nothing to get het-up about.

Good science fiction is based on sound underlying scientific
principles. Dan Brown's books are built up in layers
with historic and scientific "facts" forming a base layer.
Above this are several layers of inference and story
telling which weave a thoroughly good thriller.
However, it is the underlying assumptions and
inferences which grab peoples imagination more than
the story.

Stephen its time you read these books! They don't cost
very much and they take very little time to read for
the simple reason that you can't put them down. When
I offered to lend one to a friend he declined saying that
his wife had already bought it for him but he wasn't
allowed to have it until the school holidays.
