I made a CD image from the iso fiel of OpenSolaris-200811. When I boot from the CD it'll just get boot to a GRUB> prompt. My MoBo is a Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DS5 WITH 790FX/SB600 chipset. I have a DVD-ROM and DVD-RAM on an IDE option card, 2 PATA-IDE HDDs on the onboard IDE and 4 SATA HDDs on the onboard SATA interface in non-raid configuration. I am able to boot from both the image file or the CD in a Virtualbox VM. I do have OpenSolaris installed as a guest VM on this system. The CPU is the AMD Athlon 64 X2 with 4GB of DDR2 RAM. What am I doing wrong? I do have hardware virtualization enabled in the BIOS.
