My recollection is that we - as on OpenSolaris CG - have approved both IPS and Conary as investigative and evaluation projects, and no more than that. We haven't properly discussed the relative merits of various packaging systems; we haven't developed a strategy to inform a choice (my efforts to start such an exercise didn't get much traction); we haven't (at least openly as an OpenSolaris CG) selected or voted on a packaging system. So the Packaging and Install CG hasn't made any decisions, although my strong impression (as the non-Sun core contrib) is that IPS is the de-facto choice as much other development is predicated on its use. -- -Peter Tribble http://www.petertribble.co.uk/ - http://ptribble.blogspot.com/
