The process can be quite civil and orderly.  With PSARC/2007/688[1] I
found the process to be good in helping me to cover the bases and to
document what is being done better.  I think my experience with man(1)
improvements was less painful because there wasn't any real
controversy.  The Conary project started with controversy (search the
archives) and I think that any unfriendliness is likely a follow-on
from this.  Conary's progress within OpenSolaris will be an
interesting test of how things are handled when a (non-Sun) community
project doesn't fall in line with a Sun-driven (community) project to
address highly overlapping subject matter.
