Hmm there might be another reason also. From what I read, theres 2
ways for a driver to work in WIndows, Kernel mode and User mode.

I think Kernel mode is faster then User mode, however user mode is
more reliable when a driver crashes. In which case, the 950gma XP
driver works in kernel mode, where as WDDM drivers work under user
mode.
