shadows are amazingly performance dropper for any hardware, but in case for
fear like cef said, shadow makes the game darker and less testure or polygon
processing, it's juz dark...but on the bright game for example, there's a
lot shadow mapping to process , and not to mentioned performance dropping
dynamic shadows...

yeah, speaking of which, before i build my first rig, all selling agent
point out to me to buy rubbish..."oh~ buy a Phenom and u wont regret it"
"buy the Nvidia GTX280, the latest and most powerful model" ...lol,
bla3x...lucky i do my homework and planned out all my hardware from simple
thing such as MoBo to GPU and case cooling (cheapest one) lol..my point is,
unless a person that prints money, they can buy which ever hardware they
want..for budget ppl, plan out before building ur rig, it can actually beat
some high end systems out there if perfectly tuned...
