i agree that for gaming, a huge framebuffer is not essential but thats only until you dont have a system to run the game in hd, or as in my case, you work with cg. About preconfigured gamer PCs... I see a lot of em set up in such a stupid way. You don't always have to go for the latest/most powerful, its way better if everything matches (in terms of performance/power) so you dont have a bottleneck. It sux ass to pay for a kickass gpu if you are stuck with a half-decent cpu for example. I've worked in a PC shop for a while and many times i actually talked costumers into buying cheaper, slower devices if they werent going for an allround system upgrade. Well its nothing special, common sense...
