HT Omega is quite nice, but definitely more for a media computer,
forget about gaming with that. If you use your pc mainly for music and
video, then stick with the HT Omega. If you game, then something with
a x-fi chip is essential. You have a Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer
Fatal1ty Pro for 100$, a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 USB
for 55$, and a Auzentech X-Fi Bravura for 120$ with improved
components. Do you listen to music, movies, games? If you really want
to start little by little, I would advise on getting the X-Fi Surround
5.1, as it has digital connections for your speakers, much better
opamps than what you have at both your desktop and laptop, and that
would help you train your ears for better things to come... Besides
being the cheapest alternative that would get you a much better sound
than onboard crap, you would actually be able to listen to good
quality sound on your laptop. Seriously, you don't know how crappy
onboard sound is until you listened to a discreet soundcard or DAC :)

I'm sorry to say, but your headphones are low end (not dirt cheap,
though:) ), more or less between my Philips SHP2000 and my Technics RP-
F290. You got those Sennheisers because you liked the sound signature
of them, or for other reason? What kind of things do you like in
music, a wider sound (like if the sound came from speakers), better
low end (bass), midrange, treble?
