Maybe you should charge them 10% of the cost of reprinting the whole book
each BIG MISTEAK you find up to a maximum of 50%.

Seriously, for proofreading for publication in the U.S. upwards of $35-40
per hour would not be unusual. If the material is highly technical,
perhaps more.
