I have the same problem, I checked the list archive, and all I found was
stuff saying "this is a known problem, it isn't going to be solved, live
with it".
So I spent hours installing various (WindowMaker) applets to give me
most of the same info that gkrellm did (though I lost a few nice
features, alas), and tossed gkrellm out.
(sigh)
(My gkrellm version is 2.2.5 and ion3 is 20051029)
