Mike,

By private network, I'm assuming the clients are using non-routable IP Addresses
(typically 192.168.x.x or 10.10.x.x). If this is the case, then each client needs to
set the following registry key: in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\IPSWITCH\MESSENGER\VERSION1.0\SETTINGS, the value "Client
Uses NAT" must be set to (integer value) "1" .

I hope this helps. If not, would you mind sending including your sysmmdd.txt log? This
will help us pin down your issue.

Subject: [IpswitchIM_Forum] Clients on private network Server on
Internet network

Installed the demo on a valid internet ip and installed the clients on a
private ip network segment. The clients can attach to the server but
will be disconnected from the server after a length of time. Also the
clients show the status of each other in "unknown state" and cannot send
instant messages back and forth. You do get the messages when you log
off and back onto the server. Can this setup exist without any changes
to the private network? If not what changes need to take place?

Thanks
