Thanks [~apurtell]. I just want to make progress here as I think this is an
important issue. I reviewed the comments above again, at the first place I
tried to discuss, I mentioned many times about how to distribute the load of
root table, but got no answer. And then I started to implement the splittable
meta to show how I can finish the work, then I was told(offline) to stop, then
I stopped and went back to discuss again. But the situation is still the same,
no one wants to answer the question about how to distribute the load of root
table...
I'm really dispirited that after two months, we made little progress. I'm still
asking the same question and still getting the same answer(actually no
answer)...
Anyway, I think a possible way to make progress is what I proposed above,
[~toffer] go with ITBLL on his POC to see if we can get some useful results,
and [~stack] to file an issue to brainstorm on how to distributed the load of
both meta and root, or maybe even a general table(I offer my help to polish
it), and I will try to implement at least a POC for HBASE-24459(actually I used
to plan to leave this issue to [~bharathv] as this is his area) to show my plan
on distribute the load of root table.
What do you guys think?
