In this case, it's more the fact that the pattern could be reused in more
dangerous parts that worries me. And removing the timeout management makes the
code much simpler. As usual, I'm not totally against the idea, just that I
think that not having timeout management is better on both short term (less
code) and long term (no risk to have a pattern reused in more dangerous
places). If we don't trust the region server, I personally prefer to have a
watchdog to kill it when it enters into an illegal state than to push this to
the client code.
