`hEvent` is of type `HANDLE`, which is a pointer type. The winapi docs
suggest comparing this pointer value to the `DWORD` (signed integer) on the
left, but the line produces a warnings since `sizeof(void*) == sizeof(DWORD)`
may not hold true.
