It has been solved a while ago.
You're probably using a very old version of iText.
The Eclipse Foundation and IBM Canada have vetted
all the copyright notices and legal aspects of iText.
They had similar concerns and all SUN related code
was either removed (EPS stuff) or refactored (IntHashtable).

There is no longer a sun.txt file in iText 2.0.4.
If for some reason you can't upgrade to iText 2.0.x
(as was the case with Eclipse/BIRT), you can use
iText 1.5.3. One of the advantages of iText 1.5.3,
is that it comes with license notices written and
checked by Actuate, IBM and the Eclipse Foundation.
