Yes I was using ivtv-tune. I am in the us and tried us-cable freq. I testing with tuning channels 2-10 on cable and only got 5 and 6. The frequency reported back looks like it agrees with the frequencies table I found online.

Did you select the correct frequency table? I suspect that is simply the problem.
