Some things I noted, not sure if they matter:

So mine showed up as device 0x2570, vendor 0x8086. If I'm not mistaken, that's Intel's vendor ID-- why is my ivtv driver detecting the card as an Intel card? Curious.

saa7115 never even shows up in my dmesg.log. Is this a consequence of your 250 card, or should I be seeing it?

I don't know if ordering matters, but in your log, this shows up before cx25840 starts probing, in mine, it's after.
Just for giggles, I just installed 0.3.3k, same as you, and made sure my firmware matched (except the audio ROM, but that's not relevant, I hope, for this problem). I *still* get snow. It sure is frustrating when we appear to have the same card, and use the exact same drivers and firmware, and yours works and mine doesn't! I hope there's some way we (or, hopefully, people smarter than us :-) can figure out what the differences are in our setups that is allowing your config to work and mine not.
