Subject: RE: [ivtv-devel] Fw: [UNKNOWN CARD] please help PVR-150 only getting b&w video

Also Try this -

After boot - look at your dmesg | grep ivtv

If any one piece is failing - try loading that module by itself and see
what happends i.e.

Modprobe tveeprom
Modprobe cx25840 (or whatever module your card uses)
Modprobe cx88xx
Modprobe ivtv

So I did manually load each of the above...

Something else to check is that you have told your PVR the right ivtvctl
options for input etc try checking different inputs and see if there is
any change. Make sure you are using NTSC or PAL depending on your setup.

What ivtvctl options do you suggest? I did try going through each of the inputs via ivtvctl -p# where # is 0-7

only -p0 and -p1 got me video, but BOTH in b&w. The best audio came from -p1

Send over some debug for more info -

The 2nd line below might be the clue... I loaded cx25840 with no options, simply "modprobe cx25840"

application mixer_applet2 uses obsolete OSS audio interface
cx25840: no version for "struct_module" found: kernel tainted.
