There is a yum plugin for kmdls. But it only applies after yum having
done its core work and "only" serves for adding kmdls for all your
kernels, e.g. if you have both smp and non-smp it will try to get a
kmdl for everyone (if existing). But since the first round of
depsolving is not really controlable form the plugin yum sees that
some kmdl is needed and that there are several available with different
kernel depedencies and will pick one at random.

E.g. it may happen that the yum update will coinstall another kernel &
kmdl, but in general the kmdl plugin will ensure you get kmdls for all
kernels on your system (iff the kmdl for the kernel exists).

If you don't have the yum kmdl plugin, do yum install yum-plugin-kmdl.

You're welcome!
