Why couldn't this have come up yesterday...I'm just bringing an Ubuntu Gutsy/MythTV setup with a a PVR 250 in my back end online. It's been working fine for a few days, I've stress tested my network by viewing live TV on a remote front end, and streaming video to 3 other front ends (including the front end running on the same machine that serves as my back end), and a D-Link DSM-520 simultaneously, all with low CPU usage on the server. The network was running smoothly, and I didn't see a hiccup of any kind on any of the machines involved. I was so impressed that I bought a PVR 500 today online so I could watch/record more channels.
So I too will be interested to see a solution. I have little to contribute at this point of course, but once I get my stuff I'll let you know how it works.
