I am using the ondemand kernel govenor. I believe I remember one other
case where this (the bleeding edge driver) has failed to fix this
problem for a user.

One other option is to disable DMA for ivtv as I said before I ran it
this way for a very long time (with a dual K8 and a dual k7) with good
success. It does make your cpu usage go up (15 to 50%) though.
