I record TV programs from my NTSC PVR-250, connected to cable TV. I expected the size of the recorded file to be quite variable, depending upon the amount of redundancy in the particular program, but am surprised to see that it is just about exactly 4G per hour always. In particular, I expected the simple animation of The Simpsons to take up less space than a photographed program, but it's the same size too.
