Well, it could just be a bad design :-), but that issue aside, I think that
an implementation can validate a design, but that a bad implementation
doesn't invalidate a design.
Yes, a validation ought to provide the basic functionality.
Not having spent any time looking at AuthService, I'd have to correct that
lack before involving myself in that technical discussion.
