It wasn't.  If you honestly feel there are other
issues aside from making invalid test cases pass, then
those should be put in the bug report.  I may not
agree with you, but on the basis of the bug report as
written (my invalid test cases fail) I still feel that
closing it was appropriate.  As Noel points out, if
you feel there are other issues outstanding
(vulnerability to DOS attacks, etc.) you can simply
reopen the bug and add the relevant details.  I may
still disagree with you, but I'm happy to discuss.

In any case, apology accepted.
