I get anywhere from 100 to 1500 trapped SPAMS / day. > Yes, that is a nice way to do it... you can call inReader().ready(), and > if true, tell them to go away with a 5xx. And that works with RFC 2197 (http://jakarta.apache.org/~pgoldstein/rfclist/smtp/rfc2197.txt) how? I object to not being able to support that RFC. > Yes, the fast-fail might be nice. I agree with that philosophy on general principles. > If you can receive and process the message, then you can determine if > it's spam or not (based on relay rules, Bayesian filter, whatever). One of the things I've considered is that if a matcher discovers spam from a currently active connection, then we could kill that connection (with a proper 5xx code) ASAP. I'm tired of spammers tying up my connections. I am also willing to limit parallel connections from a single IP address, although I see that "attack" less frequently. --- Noel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
