Peter,
        I suspect the problem you were having is related to the JDK you are
running.  I am running the following config and am not having any
problems:

JDK 1.2.2 (Blackdown)
Apache JServ 1.1.2
SuSE 6.4
JSDK (Servlet Dev Kit from Sun) 2.0  (very important!)

        The whole thing installed and seems to work as advertised.  I'm also
running Oracle 8.1.6 on the same machine with no problems.
