yes, but there is a good chance that it won't help those of us who use
non Solaris/Microsoft OSs (until it gets to 1.2... sigh...).
(right now, for our statistical visualization toolkit, we develop on
Linux or Solaris, and view on NT (either native or via Linux through
VMware), so...
Obligatory non-cynical datum:
We've noticed that our J3D apps run faster under Windows (on a P2-300)
than on Solaris (Ultra-10) or Linux (P2-350). In fact it's worse -- I
get significantly better performance via VMware on an AMD K2-350 than
I do with the native (linux) prerelease version.... sigh....
Even when run at the same time.
