Hello ,
Regarding alternatives to java3D,
The following I find objectionable;
> OK, VRM close to non-existent,
> but also VRML close to be replaced with X3D.
> but also VRML close to be replaced with X3D.
Having spent a great deal of time and effort working on the development of VRML content the statement
> > > VRML (close to non-existent)
is insulting not only to all the thousands of VRML
worldbuilders but also to all those people who gave their time and effort
inorder to create the VRML'97 standard, there are literally thousands of sites
on the web featuring VRML content, the least of all being my own. As regards
VRML being replaced with X3D , from what I have seen so far X3D has no where
near the level and breadth of capabilities that are found now in our Multi-user
VRML worlds and if the author of these statements had actually taken the time to
explore the wealth of VRML websites she/he would not have been so foolish as to
dismiss VRML so lightly.
