Well, like we said with Dave's initial query - if you are doing mainly Java3D development then the dual procs are a worthwhile investment as Java3d is multithreaded internally and will explicitly make use of them them it if can. As for SCSI, we'll that, for anyone is debatable, but if you are doing heavy texturing work then I think it is an investment. Of course, the other argument for the extra expense is that 18months down the track when the hardware is a little dated for 3D work, it makes one hell of a kick-arse server that will last you for another couple of years of useful serious work.
