Java 3D installation has had issues recently, but I haven't heard of any case
where it actually disables the Java Plug-in. I wonder where that FAQ come
from?

In any case, we are abandoning InstallAnywhere with the upcoming release of
Java 3D 1.3 beta 2 and are back to InstallShield. Hopefully that will improve
things, or at least come up with a different class of problems :) The beta 2
Windows installation tests out well here.
