The X3D spec process definately went south for awhile. Originally the specification was being written by 2-3 people from big companies which imploded. Its taken a big effort to recover from that. Now we have 10 very active participants and a nice draft spec. By Siggraph well have the spec in good shape and ready for folks to implement. I think we've fixed a lot of the problems in the VRML spec and really built a good base to work from. We should have a working model to extend the spec instead of waiting 5 years to modify it. As to big companies supporting it... Siggraph is always the place for that sorta news, stay tuned. -- Alan Hudson President: Yumetech, Inc. http://www.yumetech.com/ Web3D Open Source Chair http://www.web3d.org/TaskGroups/source/ =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body of the message "signoff JAVA3D-INTEREST".
