Hi,

Well, running an applet requires the user to have java installed, so to run java 3D, the user would have to have java 3D installed.   We have demos of java3D models on our website, that load with java webstart and include a brief "set up" guide to making sure they have java and java 3D installed.  But once they have that stuff, you can show off your models in thier original glory (depending, of course, on the user's processing / graphics power...).
