I still think killing off JavaOne would be a big step backwards.

Sure there was plenty to fix with JavaOne last year -- but much of this 
boiled down to Sun not having made much progress since the last JavaOne 
due to lack of resources.

I too think Java would just be lost in OpenWorld.  I also think a lot of 
Java developers simply won't come as they won't be that interested in 
the rest of OpenWorld.

This could be a real boon for any/all other Java conferences, though.
