As Viktor mentions, install CyanogenMod on it. I suppose the N1 screen is slightly more susceptible to glare, which I suspect is a bi-product of not suffering from the typical bad LCD viewing angles (more light reflected). > Next, I thought I read that the N1 only has a single band, 2100, which > seems like it might be limiting when traveling. Yeah it's GSM quad-band with HDSPA over 900/2100 MHz - like your Sapphire. Not really sure about what problems you might run into, the cellular technology and bands story seems a little confusing and fragmented in the US. > Are the micro-USB power cords mostly compatible? That is, could I use > my Kindle power cord on the N1 and vice-versa? Well it's a standard micro-USB (unlike the proprietary one of your Sapphire) but I don't own a Kindle. It also also has gold plated contacts at the bottom and a promise to support accessories much in the same way as we see for the iPhone. /Casper
