Reading Simon's email, I don't agree that is "pretty clear" that Apple
did something innovative, but I only acknowledge that there are high
chances. To be sure, I'd like to see evidences, as I think that much
of what Apple has been recently doing is innovation at the marketing
level; for sure there are innovative solutions in the iPhone hardware,
but it's not automatic that other manufacturers needed to use the very
same solutions (unless we're talking Ohm's law). The fact that in the
middle of the 20 and more patents listed in the sue there is at least
some bullshit (I mean, perfectly valid from the legal point of view,
but bullshit for the common sense) doesn't help Apple's reputation.
I'd like that some expert blogger reviewed the list and separate the
valid points from the noise.

In any case, I fully agree with Casper that most of patents are
planned just for retaliation purposes. It's an area where a legal
reform would be needed, as to me it's just another bubble (for lawyers).
