This could kill the community around Java and force Google to decide on a new language for Android. Should that happen, Google has enormous power in its hands at deciding the next big language. Who knows how Apache, IBM, and others will react. Oracle might be flexing its muscle, and part of me hopes Google calls its bluff. If not and it walks away from Java, then a part of me hopes Oracle gets what is coming to them for killing the goose.
