"Healthy", also to anticipate the answer to your final question, means 1) with cash and profits and 2) with a strong leadership. Two things that Sun didn't have in the recent years and that Oracle has always had and still has.

Disclaimer: I'm not expert at this kind of things, but my common sense says that Google quitting Android is impossible. It's one of their core businesses that would put at stake the whole company. If Oracle really pursues that target, it will be such a mutual destructive nuclear war between USA and USSR since Google has obviously got a fully arsenal of weapons too. So, yes, I suppose they wanted the money and to pass the message that the old times of Sun being bashed for free is over. BTW, maybe it's also wishful thinking by me because I think that this kind of settlement is the one that would make less harm to Java and to the community. >> So, please let's not play the drama "poor Google open minded >> guys versus the arrogant Larry Ellison" or I'll start laughing. >> It's just business as usual between healthy corporates, >> unfortunately. I've answered the first half of the question - I don't fully understand from "though" on - my fault with the comprehension of "spin" in this context. - -- Fabrizio Giudici - Java Architect, Project Manager Tidalwave s.a.s. - "We make Java work.
