Hello This is quite sad really to hear about this this morning. I thought the old-boy-network and behind-the-scenes meetings between the corporations might have achieved a definite result for the benefit of the entire industry. I rather sure that CxO can network among themselves. The phrase "it's lonely at the top" could have been a social meme to disuade others from believing in their dreams and aspiring to get to the top of their industry! Instead, what we clearly have is yet another example of disagreements, disillusion and fragility between software patents. I encourage Oracle and Google with Open Handset Alliance together in a single room and *keep attempting* thrash out a deal from the naming rights, branding and licensing of Android. I am reading-behind-the-lines that the public suepona is the result of failed negotiations that could have already taken place. So please CxOs lets go back to the boardrooms and get a result that benefits Java and the whole community, otherwise I think you start to kiss it all goodbye. One sure thing that is undeniable, is that Android is a good and is getting stronger by the day. Gosh! JavaOne is going be extremely interesting with this news story (stories) as a backdrop. Will Oracle join the OHA? Will Google join the JCP (or whatever it becomes)? If Oracle is coming after Google, what does mean for the Google App Engine? Do The Deal!?! Get JavaFX on the Android platform today! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
